How to Get Rid of Dry Skin on Hands

Posted by Halle Homel on

Dry skin and winter weather are two things that tend to go together. Our hands are usually one of the first parts of our bodies to get really dry with the shift to colder temperatures, and it can be frustrating and uncomfortable to be constantly dealing with dry and cracked hands during the holidays. There are many ways to combat dry skin on your hands, but these are our favorite ways and best products to get yourself feeling comfortable in your own skin again.

Kukui Body Lotion

Incorporate a daily moisturizer

The best and easiest way to combat dry skin on your hands is to use a moisturizer as often as you need. We love our Kukui Body Lotion for this. Kukui oil is a fantastic lightweight moisturizer that can work with your body to restore dry skin. We recommend that you use this as a hand cream whenever you feel like your body needs it.

Remove dry skin on hands

Exfoliate your hands too!

Exfoliation isn’t just for the face! It’s possible to exfoliate your body, and your hands too! We love our Sugar Body Scrub for all over exfoliation, which allows you to remove dead and dry skin from your hands, so that moisturizer can be absorbed properly. Our Sugar Body Scrub also has a bit of kukui nut oil in it, so that you can exfoliate and moisturize in one easy step. We do recommend using a Kukui Body Lotion too for maximum moisture.

Drink lots of water

While you might not feel quite as thirsty when it’s cold out, it’s important to make sure you’re drinking a lot of water throughout the day. This will help your body to naturally replenish moisture, so that you don’t need to use as much moisturizer throughout your day. It’s important to give your body moisture at the source, and keeping your whole body hydrated is the best way to do that.
